Some say South Gippsland is too cold for Syrah. We say not if you like it fresh.

We didn’t get a day over 30 during the ripening period for these grapes and couldn’t believe our luck. A cooler than average vintage in an already cool area provided the recipe for just the sort of Syrah we love to drink.

High acid, tight palate, crunchy fruit.

We pick our grapes according to flavour and acidity. The seeds might not be brown and the stems might not be woody like the textbooks say they should be, but when flavour and acidity are in equilibrium we pick.

If you like your reds big, bold and full of ripe fruit then this one’s not for you. But if you prefer something a little more energetic – more bright red berries than dark, more old world than new – then we think you’ll like it.
